DREAM II District Launch Programme Held in Wayanad

The District Launch of DREAM II (Drug Rehabilitation, Education and Mentoring) was successfully held on 2 September 2026 at 11:30 AM at Don Bosco College, Sulthan Bathery, marking a significant step towards strengthening drug prevention and youth-focused interventions across Wayanad.

The programme commenced with a Welcome Dance presented by the students of Don Bosco College, followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Rev. Fr. Jithin, Director, DREAM Project.

The Presidential Address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Antony John, Manager, Don Bosco Institutions. The programme was formally inaugurated by Sri. Devemanohar IPS, District Police Chief, Wayanad.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Rev. Dr. Shajan Noronha, Principal, Don Bosco College. The DREAM II Logo was officially released by Sri. R. N. Baiju, Assistant Excise Commissioner, Wayanad. The Sradha & Nirakootu Club was inaugurated by Smt. Karthika Anna Thomas, District Child Protection Officer.

The event also featured felicitation and greetings from representatives of the Tribal Development Department, Sulthan Bathery Municipality, and the DREAM State Team, reflecting the importance of collective efforts in addressing substance abuse and supporting young people in the district.The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Smt. Taniya NT, DREAM District Counsellor.

The successful launch of DREAM II in Wayanad marks an important milestone in expanding initiatives related to drug prevention, rehabilitation, education, mentoring, and youth development, with a focus on building safer and more supportive communities across the district.
